Take notice, everyone. The limits on awards in the Employment Tribunal are set to rise on the 1st February 2012. This will only apply to dismissals which take place on or after 1st February 2012. The changes are as follows:

1. Unfair dismissal: the maximum compensation award will rise from £68,400 to £72,300

2. Capped week’s gross pay (for calculating the Basic Award): will rise from £400 to £430. The maximum Basic Award will therefore increase to £12,900.
