Subhan Anwar murder: Inmates jailed for life – Two prisoners have been told they will spend the rest of their lives in jail for strangling a fellow inmate with his tracksuit trousers. Subhan Anwar, 23, from Huddersfield, was found dead in his cell at HMP Long Lartin, Worcestershire, on 14 February (BBC)
  2. Rolf Harris in court over assault charges – Entertainer Rolf Harris has appeared in court charged with nine counts of indecent assault and four of making indecent images of children. During the brief hearing at Westminster Magistrates’ Court, the 83-year-old spoke only to answer personal details (BBC)
  3. Leslie Deans charged with money laundering offences – A prominent Scottish solicitor and former Hearts chairman has been charged with money-laundering offences as part of an ongoing fraud inquiry involving a number of people (The Scotsman)
  4. Sisters convicted of money laundering offences – The sisters of convicted drug dealers have been sentenced after admitting money laundering offences. Surriya Bi, 33, and Asia Bi, 38, both of Park Road, Rochdale, admitted money laundering to the value of £40k each at a hearing (Click Manchester)
  5. London schoolboy secretly arrested over ‘world’s biggest cyber attack’ – A London schoolboy has been secretly arrested over the “world’s biggest cyber attack” as part of an international swoop against a suspected organised crime gang (The Evening Standard)
  6. Guilty plea to smuggling £3.6 million of cannabis through Dover – A German man has been convicted of attempting to smuggle around £3.6 million of cannabis into the UK through Dover’s Eastern Docks and was sentenced to four years in prison (CPS)
  7. Caroline Lucas MP Charged over Balcombe Fracking Protests – Caroline Lucas MP has, according to the CPS, been charged with two offences relating to her appearance at a protest earlier this year (CPS)
  8. Tory Aide Alan Lewis Held Over Rape Claim – Senior Conservative official Alan Lewis is arrested and bailed by police for an alleged rape said to have happened 46 years ago (Sky News)
  9. Leicester fatal fire: Two more men charged with murder – Two more men have been charged with the murder of four members of a family in a house fire in Leicester. Shehnila Taufiq, 47, her daughter Zainab, 19, and sons Bilal, 17, and Jamil, 15, died in the blaze in Wood Hill on 13 September (BBC)
  10. Evaldas Svolkinas: Pair charged over carpenter’s murder – A man and woman have been charged with murder after the body of a Lithuanian man was found in an east London stream (BBC)
